Guys wearing flip flops?

My boyfriend and I have disagreed on something about fashion. He says people think it is stupid when guys wear jeans and flip flops together and I think it is cute. So we made a bet, if the majority of people agree with him, I can%26#039;t wear flip flops for a month (I wear them everyday) and if I win, he has to wear them everydayfor a month. So, who do you agree with?

Guys wearing flip flops?
I like them on guys :)
Reply:On some guys it looks stupid.
Reply:I think it is so gross. I hate man feet and toes. Luckily my man knows better than to wear them around me, now my ex.....he had the hairiest feet and it was such a huge turn OFF.
Reply:Depends on the style of flip flop

I hate these ugly green and yellow strapped ones my boyfriend thinks are ok to wear in public.....

but some of my guy friens have nice flip flops...

soo it%26#039;d depend on teh style
Reply:It depends if the guy has dirty toes or not some guys that have pretty feet it looks ok but on others ir looks ridiculous
Reply:I do think is looks terrible when guys wear flip flops. The only exception is the beach.
Reply:i totally hate guys wearing flipflops esp. if going out on malls, CHURCHES.. or even in school (other schools allow flipflops as long as u have an I.D.).. i no matter how good their feet looks like... its still improper... or unless a guy wud wear that at their backyard, garage or even just inside the village..its OK..
Reply:it depens on wat type of jeans dark jeans yes light jeans no way and wat colopr flip flops but i agree it looks cute
Reply:Assuming both the jeans and the flip flops are nice, I definately think it looks cute.
Reply:no I don%26#039;t agree with your BF. i don%26#039;t know that I would call it a %26quot;cute%26quot; look, but if a guy has nicely kept feet, the right flip flops and darker wash jeans, it is perfectly acceptable to wear them together.

my brother wears brown or black leather flip flops with jeans all the time and looks great. but nothing like crazy or bright.

what exactly does your BF think is stupid about them?
Reply:I agree with your boyfriend, it looks super stupid. Its a major turn off.

So looks like you%26#039;ll be without flip-flops.
Reply:oh my god why don%26#039;t u bet being w/o 4 that period
Reply:It honestly depends on the guy ... some fellas can pull off that look - others don%26#039;t look good at all.

Incidently - it always looks better if a fella takes care of his feet. Crusty feet with scabs and f%26#039;ed up toenails is NEVER a good combination with flip-flops.
Reply:i hate when guys wear them unless on the beach

but i hate guy-toes
Reply:My Cousin wears flip flops and he looks good in them!
Reply:Depends on the guy... but, Flip Flops generally look cute as long as you are not in a professional setting.... They are definitely a work DON%26quot;T.

Guys and flip flops...your thoughts?

hey im 23, a laid back guy....www.myspace.com/flyboy7683 ..... whats your thoughts on me wearing flip flops? what attire would look best and not soo good with me wearing flip flops? your details help alot!

Guys and flip flops...your thoughts?
Wear them with cargo shorts or really distressed jeans with holes in the knees and frayed bottoms. Don%26#039;t wear them with anything formal or business casual. It looks dorky. I%26#039;m wearing a t-shirt, some really faded, ripped jeans and flip flops today. Girls like how this looks on me.
Reply:I have Old Navys, Havaians, and Reefs. I have both brown and black. Those are the only colors you need. They go with everything. I usually wear brown with jeans. Report It

Reply:Wearing flip flops is great, if you like the comfort of it then do it. I like to wear them with jeans esp. old broken in jeans. Since flip flops are a causal shoe you don%26#039;t really have to worry about color matching.
Reply:Not a fan of flip flops on men or women for that matter. Some sandals are fine, but flip flops are just sloppy looking to me.
Reply:Depends where you are at.

The beach: cool.

Hanging out: cool.

Snow: not cool.

I have a friend I used to hang out at a coffee shop and he wore flip flops.

He didn%26#039;t care what people thought and neither should you.
Reply:I understand about being laid back and whatnot but unless you are on a the beach, or are strolling poolside, leave the flip-flops alone.

There are alternatives to the traditional flip-flop...that are a little less %26quot;hippie%26quot;. :)
Reply:Wearing flip flops year round is BIZARRE! I%26#039;m really confused by that! In the summer, with clean nice feet... nadaproblem! And no.. i don%26#039;t have a foot fetish! I just can understand how people can expose or should I say unleash the madness down below!
Reply:don know

unless u r in hawaii i would forget em. sorry
Reply:when you go to florida,its all you see. i love em%26#039;

and i miss florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Flip flops are fine in the summer as long as your feet are not gross. Also nothing in worse than a sock tan, so take care of that aspect as well.

Flip flops %26gt; male sandals
Reply:one word - gay. I have no respect for guys in sandals or flip-flops.

Take 2 seconds to put on shoes. It%26#039;s what men do.

Foreigners wearing flip flops in Manila?

I would just like to know what Filipino people think of foreigners wearing flip flops in places like malls and such? I%26#039;m a 20 sumthing Australian born filipino who wears beach culture clothes like Billabong and Ricurl inspired things and as anyone would know flip flop thongs are a must for the clothes. Do people there frown upon or simply don%26#039;t care?

Foreigners wearing flip flops in Manila?
i don%26#039;t think there%26#039;s ever an issue about wearing flip flops around manila... wearing anything you want don%26#039;t give you a pass to jail. and anyway you%26#039;re a foreigner we give allowances for that!
Reply:Filipinos wear flip flops to the mall, too.
Reply:It%26#039;s ok, people here don%26#039;t care about what you wear. And if you really are a Filipino, then act normal like as if you were born here...:)
Reply:There is nothing wrong whatsoever in wearing flip flops (we, in Australia, call them thongs) to the malls.

Golly gosh it%26#039;s only a shopping center not the Ritz. Sure there are places that you shouldn%26#039;t wear the thongs and Tranquil has covered those.

I find thongs to be extremely comfortable and prefer them to shoes. If that makes me a slob then so be it.

If an Establishment wants to bar me from entering their premises because I am wearing thongs than that is their perogative and their loss but as yet that has not happened.

Kojak, old buddy, I do think you need to lighten up a bit.
Reply:There are places where dress codes are in effect. Clubs (because one would not dare risk the delicate toes to be stepped on by high heels), restaurants that offer fine dining (or risk being barred from entering), church (out of respect to the Diety, especially if one can afford to buy a pair of shoes).

Otherwise, life is cool, happy travels, dude/dudette.
Reply:i wear flip flops to the malls... so do my friends. go ahead and wear your flip flops. it%26#039;s okay with us.

what is frowned upon is people wearing flip flops that are cheap imitations of say havaianas, dupe or ipanema.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t care what people say as long as your comfortable wearing it. It is not them who is going to suffer if you are not comfortable with what you are wearing especially when it comes to walking so go ahead and have fun! Be comfortable! Enjoy your stay!
Reply:I personally think that there%26#039;s nothing wrong with wearing flip flops in the malls (foreigners and locals alike). It%26#039;s not like you%26#039;re going to a job interview when you have to dress appropriately, a mall is a place where you go to relax and be entertained so I think it%26#039;s permissible to wear whichever you like (especially if it%26#039;s something that makes you feel comfortable).
Reply:Do not know what Filipinos think. I know what I think. I also do not break my thinking into catagories according to nationality; %26quot;one size%26quot; thinking fits all. While it is not my place to tell my host how to dress in his own home, that does not prevent me from having an opinion.

I see people, including foreigners, dressing inappropriately everyday. You should dress according to where you are. It is not appropriate to wear your bath robe to the mall, why would you wear your beach attire there. People eating do not necessarily enjoy you parading around with naked feet. If shoes do not fit with your outfit, may be your outfit does not fit.

While I am at it let me point out some other gross dressing and conduct faux paux. Many people , particularly foreigners ,like to wear big baggy T-shirts which expose their naked arm pits and half their floppy chest. There is some attire that is just not suited for some people. Many of the men wearing %26quot;athletic%26quot; T-shirts are not athletes. A four hundred pound fat dude or dudette should not wear a thong. It is simply ugly and gross. I do not care how comfortable you are; it makes others uncomfortable. If you do not care what people think of you at least have consideration for what others have to suffer.

You do not walk around the mall in your athletic jock strap. You do not scratch your butt and adjust your family jewels in public. You do not cough or spit in polite company without labeling yourself as an uncouth boob. Why would you think dressing for the beach would be appropriate for the mall? Do you also wear your pajamas to the cinema?

A lot of people, particularly young people want to %26quot;express themselves%26quot;. Usually at someone elses expense.

If you see someone walking down the street dress like a police officer, you think he is probably a policeman. If you see a man dressed like a soldier you figure he is a military man. So it is natural when you see a man dressed like a slob with no regard for anyone but his own comfort, you figure he is an insensitive selfish slob. No, you ain%26#039;t %26quot;Kool Dude%26quot;.
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t matter what you%26#039;re wearing as long as you%26#039;re comfortable. We also wear flip flops in going to the malls.
Reply:i wear flipflops in malls, people don%26#039;t care as long as you%26#039;re comfortable
Reply:as long as it%26#039;s not tsinelas it%26#039;s okey.
Reply:we wear flip flops to the mall, too, so why shouldn%26#039;t you? it%26#039;s perfectly fine.
Reply:there used to be a time, decades ago, it was socially frowned upon to wear flip-flops or %26quot;tsinelas%26quot; outside of the house or to the malls. but with the arrival of upscale fliplops like havaianas, it%26#039;s been fashionable to do so. so go ahead...and have fun in the philippines!
Reply:most people probably wouldn%26#039;t care.

i see MANY foreigners where i live in the philippines and they all wear variances of flip flops and sneakers
Reply:If u feel comfortable wearing that, it should be fine.. Also Filipino people doesn%26#039;t care about what u wear. Only maybe but not sure, your fellow white people would care. I forgot you are Australian born Filipino. But in fine restaurants, sure u would get noticed.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t mind anyone wearing flip flops as long as their feet don%26#039;t stink up the room.
Reply:allan y... tsinelas and flipflops are the same... and Kojak maybe a little too serious about his answer, but I have to give him credit. he%26#039;s right.

Ok... if youre a 20 sumthing Australian born Filipino, then you can get away with wearing beachwear at the mall. But people might find it silly to see a Filipino guy wearing beachwear in November..

Have fun ;)
Reply:Filipinos have no problem with this.

But, as in any country, if the establishment is a tad classier for you to be wearing fliflops inside, don%26#039;t even attempt to try to get in. You can eat at Pizza Hut or TGIF wearing sandals or flipflops, but please stay away from the restaurants or shops who are too polite to be requiring a dress code.
Reply:No one will care as long as it looks neat.

Sandals or flip-flops?

sandals of flip-flops? cuz the flip-flops%26#039; support is between the 1st and 2nd toe so will this be bad for the feet?

Sandals or flip-flops?
neither one is really great for our feet as far as support goes, but any doctor will tell you that sandals are better.

there is more to them to support your foot and they have thicker soles to prevent you from getting injured
Reply:flip-flops
Reply:i live in hawaii, and pretty much wear flops all year because they%26#039;re so convenient.

however, i can%26#039;t count how many times i%26#039;ve scraped the tips of my toes, and stepped on sharps rocks etc, and got hurt!

they also have ZERO support.

but you can%26#039;t beat them for convenience and cheapness.
Reply:It depends on what you%26#039;re asking. Do you mean do we prefer sandals or flip-flops? Or do we think one style is better than the other?

Leather sandals are more supportive to your feet, and you can find some very comfortable styles. They%26#039;re also more professional to wear to work. But for leisure I lean toward the flip-flops...they%26#039;re so easy to slip on and you feel almost barefoot. Plus you can afford to buy them in every color to match all your summer outfits.

Most comfortable flip flops?

What brand or company makes the most comfortable flip flops? Most plastic flip flops make my feet itch and get blisters.

Most comfortable flip flops?
Berkenstocks are the best sandals. If you want something a little more sturdy then flip flops.

If not stick with Panama Jack or something a little more expensive then the others.
Reply:american eagle and old navy sandals are very comfortable
Reply:I absolutely love Old Navy flip flops. They%26#039;re comfortable, come in almost every color possible, and are just 2 pairs for $5 - although now I think they%26#039;re on clearance for less than $2 a pair. I would deffinately try them
Reply:Old Navy, by far. Plus, they%26#039;re SUPER CHEAP!!
Reply:Havaianas and Billabong. Both have super soft rubber and the billabong ones have very cute thin straps if you want that. Both are ready to ware and don%26#039;t need breaking in.
Reply:I live in flip flops year round! I have found that Old Navy is the best. Comfort and cost are key and they provide both. Plus you can get a pair in any color. If you are looking for leather then try American Eagle Outfitters.
Reply:ok.. no offense but all of the people who have already responded to your question are SO wrong.. rainbows are definitely the way to go... im on my 3rd pair and they are soooo comfortable.. a little pricey (about $50).. but they are absolutely worth the money

AND they have a guarantee so if they break they will repair them/give you new ones for free...

www.rainbowsandals.com.. i have the Premier Leather Sierra Brown Single Layer Arch ... buy these flip-flops.. i promise you won%26#039;t regret it!
Reply:old navy flip flops are REALLY comfortable but reefs are the most comfortable and they are not plastic
Reply:i got a pair of old navy ones this past summer and loved them. they dont hurt at all. and they%26#039;re like 2 for $5.
Reply:I%26#039;ve had the best luck with the $10 Target generic sandals. They%26#039;re made with some sort of fuzzy fabric and usually have some sort of beadwork on them. I%26#039;d%26#039;ve bought some this year, but they were kind of ugly. I do have a pair that%26#039;s pretty much worn out that I%26#039;ve been wearing for about three years, though (and not a single blister!)....
Reply:I found Sketchers makes very comfortable flip flops/sandals. Easy to slide into, and the strap area is made out of a foam material that curls around your big toe, instead of digging in between your toes.

Eddie Bauer also made a new pair of very comfortable flip flops this summer. The straps were made from elastic, and the sole was very comfortable for long term walking. Only downside was that running was hazardous, as the sole would occasionally snag the ground and trip you.
Reply:rainbows or flo jos or cobians are pretty comfy and their cute%26amp;simple

Apparently so.
Reply:Sorry but they are a staple in my summer attire!!! I luv em
Reply:You have heard of a man dying with his boots on? I%26#039;m a woman that will probably die with her flip flops on.
Reply:You got issues dude...

my dog is a rat terrier mix. shes really small and cute and loves to chew. (shes 1 but i dpnt think is ever going to grow out of the chewing stage) its not bad at all, but once in a while she%26#039;ll chew something. last night she shredded my new flip flops=[ i was wondering if you have ever had chewed up flip flops or if you feel bad for me you would like to send me some links of cute flip flops i can buy and keep away from my dog. thanks=]

Ever had chewed up flip flops?
Last year my Husky chewed all of my bamboo flip flops, they were cheap but I loved them!!! He%26#039;s likes to chew on wood, so I%26#039;m guessing this is why he liked the flip flops. Now I keep all my shoes put away, cause if I forget just once I can say bye bye to those shoes!!! It%26#039;s been 3 years, no matter the punishment he still will chew shoes, blankets, pillows....it sucks!
Reply:ya well you are Not the only one who has chewed up flip flops my dog has eaten two pairs each pair $ 80 bucks each thankyou very much and yes the dog is still alive and no does not walk funny
